Meet Leslie Alison Owner & Baker, LuRay Bakery Hi, I’m Leslie Alison — the heart and hands behind LuRay Bakery. Cooking has always been a passion of mine, and I even went to college for it! I graduated from Johnson and Wales University with a Bachelor’s degree in Food and Beverage Entrepreneurship. After a few years working in the restaurant industry, I decided to take a step back to focus on family life. Funny enough, anyone who knew me back then would have said, “Leslie’s not a baker—she hates baking!” Oh, how God loves to make us eat our words. My sourdough journey began with a simple focaccia recipe — something familiar from my college days. Then I thought, “Why not try sourdough? How hard could it be?” Well… I quickly learned it’s both an art and a science! But I fell in love with the process — the patience, the creativity, and the joy of sharing something that’s not only delicious but also nourishing for the body. Over the past two years, this journey has been such a blessing. I’ve found so much joy in baking bread that’s wholesome, flavorful, and good for your digestion.
